Get ready to be dazzled with sparkling Galaxy Lights at Space Center Houston. As the most interactive and technologically advanced light display in Texas, Galaxy Lights takes you on an experience through high-tech kinetic colorful light shows in the Main Plaza and a Winter Wonderland with large, 3-D holiday décor and lights, all while enjoying hot cocoa and other holiday food and beverages. Galaxy Lights is open from November 13 to January 2, and you can purchase your tickets on Space Center Houston’s website.   

For a family photo that’s oh-so-sweet, take a pic in front of South Shore Harbour’s famous gingerbread house, which will be unveiled November 17. It’s made with nearly 400 pounds of gingerbread and adorned with elaborate confectionary details. Stop by anytime during the holiday season to see it. Visit any time before December 24.

Fall into November’s Holiday Fun 

Nutcracker in the Park is the ultimate Shop Small Saturday experience and the perfect way to usher in the holiday season with family and friends. Come out to the Mouse King Market for Small Shop Saturday and an outdoor art, craft, and holiday market. Browse from local vendors selling everything from designer clothing to food items, décor, jewelry, and more. You’ll find something for everyone on your list. Additionally, kids’ activities will be offered at League Park. Your little ones can take ballet lessons from real ballerinas and enjoy holiday crafts under the oaks.

Tree Lighting Ceremony

Set on the same day as Nutcracker in the Park and the Mouse King Market, stick around for the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Sip from rich hot cocoa, pick up a free 2023 commemorative ornament, and listen to live music as we usher in the start of the holiday season together.  

Holiday Celebrations Galore in December 

Ring in the holidays on December 1 with Seabrook’s beloved Main Street Tree Lighting Ceremony. Festivities will take place on the Seabrook Community House starting at 6 p.m. and will include rich hot chocolate, scrumptious cookies, local vendors, musical performances by area schools AND an appearance from the man himself, Santa Claus! 

Experience the magic of the Nutcracker Ballet, a timeless holiday classic and Bay Area Houston’s perennial family favorite. Filled with toy soldiers, dancing snowflakes, Sugar Plum fairies, and the magical land of Sweets, this ballet is a tradition and must-see during the holidays. December 2-4, 9-11, & 16-18 at the Bayou Theater at University of Houston-Clear Lake.

Spend the first three Saturday mornings in December at the Paradise Reef restaurant in South Shore Harbour Resort with Santa Claus. This special breakfast will be served buffet style on December 3, 10, & 17, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. For reservations, call 281-334-1010, ext. 2022  

See the Magic of Main Street as the League City Proud Organization throws their 25th annual Holiday in the Park festival at beautiful League Park during the first weekend of December. Live music, craft vendors, a children’s parade, the Grand Night Parade (the largest holiday parade in Galveston County), and more are in store for this annual League City tradition. 

Come down to the Merry Market at Butler’s Courtyard on December 3 during League City’s Holiday in the Park. Shop through local vendors and find the perfect gifts for your loved ones while sipping from mistletoe margaritas from Butler’s Courtyard’s very own Bar 1909. 

Share a plate of pancakes with all the trimmings with Santa during Seabrook’s Breakfast with Santa spectacular. Hosted at the Seabrook Community Center on December 10 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., this too-cute holiday event is the perfect time to take photos with Santa while your children feast on delicious pancakes.

Jingle and mingle in a winter wonderland of snow during Nassau Bay’s Holiday in the Park on December 10 from 2 to 4 p.m. Packed with activities like wintery snow slide, a trackless train, and an ugly sweater contest, this annual celebration at Howard Ward Park is for the whole family to enjoy!  

Celebrate the 61st annual Christmas Boat Parade on Clear Lake with Clear Lake Shores and friends on December 10 starting at 6 p.m. With more than 60 brightly decorated power and sailboats traveling the waters of Clear Lake, this parade is a well-loved tradition in Bay Area Houston.   

Ring in the New Year with South Shore Harbour Resort during their All That Glitters New Year’s Eve celebration on December 31.
