Bird Watching in Nassau Bay, TX
What is Birding?
Birding is the observation of birds in their natural habitat and is one of the fastest-growing hobbies in North America. There are more than 50 million birders in the US, according to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Many birders use field guides, and keep notebooks where they log information about the birds they find. Think of it as a different spin on a treasure hunt.
League City and the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail
The Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail runs the entire length of the Texas Gulf Coast and is home to more than 450 species of birds. It shouldn’t be too hard to spot them, as Texas is home to more bird species than any other state in the United States. Nassau Bay sits on the Upper Texas Coast portion of this trail, and is home to hundreds of bird species, making it the perfect place for birding.
